The year is almost over, but in between the study there is still room for a collective excitement about next year: BBQ tour planning is well underway; the returners have started discussing orientation week; and the gossip in the corridors is about the freshers people know are arriving in 2010.

Over the coming year, the returners will do everything we can to uphold all that makes this place so special. We will wage war on Union lawn, pay homage to Gardies Tavern, curtsey on the College Auditorium stage and heave that infamous cast-iron bath down the lovely Leith. Every tradition, however, was at first an innovation and we won't be afraid to throw in a few ideas of our own. It's an honour to lead the SCSA next year and I can assure you the torch will burn strong in 2010.

Vitai lampada tradunt.
